Tasty but bad for you pot roast

I made this recipe a little more than a week ago and forgot to take picture. It tastes fantastic but it's not at all healthy. It can be done in a slow cooker or cooked over over slow heat for hours in the oven on the stove. It's from my mom.

3 pound chuck roast
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 packet onion soup mix
1/2 pound of mushrooms quartered
Salt and pepper

Get a pan nice and hot over high heat, add a little oil. Salt and pepper the chuck roast and place in pan browning on all sides, about 5 minutes a side depending on thickness.

In mixing bowl combine cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix and mushrooms. Use a little bit of water to get the extra soup out of the cans, but not too much.

Place roast in the slow cooker and pour soup and mushroom mixture. Place on low and let cook for 6 to 8 hours. If you're cooking it in a dutch oven in the oven cook for 4 to 5 hours at 300 degrees, or on th stove top cook over low heat for five to six hours. It's hard to overcook this type of meat.

I served with some mashed potatoes and a green veggie.

I'm off to Florida in the morning and won't be back for a couple of days. I probably won't be posting anything again until the weekend.
