What to cook?

I'm feeling a little indifferent on what to cook this week. On Friday I'm going to do some baked ziti, my own recipe, but am trying to figure pout what else I want to make this week.

It might be time to try some short ribs again. I also haven't done risotto in awhile. And then there's this interesting chicken and saffron recipe. Anybody have some suggestions?

Also, on a personal note, Rory and I got engaged over the weekend. We're both very excited. I figure it's only family and friends that read this, but figure it was worth noting in case there's anyone else.

Yay! You are engaged!

What about fish? Or stew? Or lasagna? Or maybe along the lines of duck a Cornish hen? Or something with corned beef? Or break out the baking and do some classic Italian wedding cookies? Hm.... yum.

OK, I just read both the risotto recipe and the chicken saffron and those look delicious! Go for it and then can I come over for left overs? :)

Katie,

Your cousin said you would tell me what to cook. Too funny.

Have you ever considered challenging yourself by expanding your vegetarian repertoire? Or perhaps soups?

I am predictable sometimes, aren't I? But I like Monica's ideas too.

When I realized I was going to be working from home I had the best intentions to make a bunch of soups. It hasn't happened because I've been too busy.

As for vegetarian dishes ... I don't know how I feel about that.

I did make the saffron chicken recipe last night I'll do a post tomorrow.

Congratulations Zack and Rory on your engagement!! Short ribs are one of my personal favorites; I use Guinness, tomato paste and beef stock for my braising liquids. Very tasty. Do you subscribe to Fine Cooking magazine? Great for learning procedures from which you can develop your own recipes. Congrats again... maybe you should try out for Top Chef. And let me know if you come up with any good vegetarian dishes; would like to do that more myself, but I'm stuck in meat-land. This is MSF's girlfriend BTW. Take care. Really enjoy your blog.

Hey, Zack.

Congrats on the engagement! Sorry I couldn't make the after-party.

Ever try stir-fry?

Love the blog...we should talk cooking sometime.
